Well Water Safe covers health-related topics, so we hold our content to clear standards.

1. Data provenance

Every statistic is traceable to a named, public source — currently the USGS private-well arsenic and nitrate models. We do not fabricate, simulate, or "estimate" numbers to fill gaps. Where data doesn't exist for an area, we say so rather than invent it. Full sourcing lives on our methodology page.

2. Modeled vs. measured

We never present a modeled area estimate as a measurement of anyone's specific well. Every data page carries a clear label to that effect and directs readers to test their own water.

3. Health claims

Health information reflects EPA and public-health guidance and is written for general education, not as medical advice. We link to primary agencies where possible and avoid alarmism.

4. Product recommendations

Recommendations are driven by the science of what removes a given contaminant, not by commission. Because arsenic, nitrate and PFAS require reverse osmosis, we recommend RO for them even though a cheaper pitcher would convert better. We disclose affiliate relationships clearly.

5. Corrections

If you spot an error, tell us and we'll fix it promptly.
